Locations have always been a source of inspiration for artists which is why we’ve decided that the next Saatchi Online Showdown is going to be focused around the theme of “Places and Spaces.”
What do we mean? We are interested in the subject of personal locations. This can be interpreted in a variety of ways from depicting your studio, your hometown, or even where you see yourself in the future. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, some people consider home a person, an object or even a pet. We want to get a glimpse into your life and surroundings and see the location that best represents your space, be it mental or physical.
What we define as “home” often ends up describing more about us, than the actual location. From Sarah Sze’s geometric, abstract and expansive installations to Andrea Zittel’s perfectly designed living units. Or even a more traditional approach like Matthias Weischer‘s hallucinatory architectural space paintings. You can tell us your story in a painting, photograph, sculpture, collage or any other medium.
Submissions will begin within the first two weeks of September, so update your portfolio and get ready for the “Places and Spaces” Showdown. We’ll be updating our site, Facebook and Twitter with details on dates, judges and more so check back often.
How will you tell your story? Submissions are not limited to any category so enter your paintings, photographs, sculptures, collage and more. We look forward to your submissions.
